Flying and climate change

Carbon emissions from aviation are one of the main causes of global warming.  As mentioned in our section on carbon emissions, flying is responsible – on average – for 2 tonnes of the 11 or so tonnes of carbon per person per year in the UK. But – like all averages – this one conceals a wide range of variation in flying habits by different groups in society.  See
