Energy Alton are working with the Environment Centre (tEC based in Southampton) Petersfield Climate Action Nework (PCAN) and Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC) in a collective campaign to provide free energy advice to residents across the whole of Hampshire.
The scheme, known as ‘My Home Made Better’ to reflect the service offered to homeowners, landlords and tenants will provide free advice to enable them to improve their comfort and lower their energy usage.
The scheme is funded by grants from the energy suppliers redress scheme. A fund set up to use the voluntary payments from energy companies that may have breached regulations. These funds are distributed to charities and community groups to support vulnerable energy consumers and develop innovative energy saving projects such as this one. The fund is managed by the Energy Saving Trust.
Initially funded for 2 years, it is hoped that this project will increase the awareness of Energy Alton’s work and enable more local residents to take advantage of the experience and expertise of our volunteers.
We will be providing further information on this project as it develops, but expect to see more of us at local events through the year.
