Our Trustees

TonyTony brings over 40 years of experience as a chartered architect (now retired) who has been involved in countless conservation and renovation projects. Tony has been involved with the green movement since the 1980s when he volunteered for work on the building of the Walter Segal house at the Centre for Alternative Technology. He was a trustee of the Sustainability Centre at East Meon for nearly twenty years where he supervised the installation of possibly the first building integrated photovoltaic roofs in the South of England. Over the years Tony has specified the installation of all sorts of low energy technology including ground, water and air sourced heat pumps, solar thermal and solar photovoltaic projects. Tony is a member of the AECB and an advocate of taking a fabric first approach to decarbonisation together with employing natural materials incorporating low embodied energy. Tony has extensive experience of thermal imaging. 
AngusWith over 25 years of experience in the power, energy, and carbon sectors, Angus has led energy management for major corporations including BT Group, Thames Water, and Pennon. His expertise spans commercial energy, energy efficiency, renewable generation (both on- and off-site), and Net Zero strategy development. Passionate about sustainable energy solutions, Angus brings deep technical andstrategic knowledge to support Energy Alton’s mission of reducing carbon emissions and promoting energy efficiency within the community.
EmmaEmma has built a career dedicated to sustainability and environmental protection. After earning a degree in Environmental Science, she worked with UK and EU governments on environmental policy and represented the UK in developing European standards around hazardous chemicals. She later led sustainability programmes across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, fostering cross-sector partnerships to drive meaningful change. Now working as a freelance consultant helping organisations develop social value strategies, Emma believes real impact begins locally. Joining Energy Alton feels like a return to her roots, aligning with her passion for sustainable homes and community action. Her family is currently working toward the EnerPHit standard for retrofit homes.
LauraLaura has extensive experience in the environmental and community energy sectors, working across public and third-sector organisations. A specialist in community energy, she has led initiatives focused on partnership building, capacity development, and business growth within the sector. Formerly Head of Capacity Building at Community Energy South, Laura played a key role in developing a shared ownership model for commercial-scale solar farms. She now serves as Head of Younity, a joint venture between Octopus Energy and Midcounties Co-operative that supports UK community energy groups by purchasing and selling community-generated electricity. A volunteer Director of Wey Valley Solar, Laura has helped deliver nine school rooftop solar projects and has been involved in the Caker Stream Solar project from its inception. She is excited to continue contributing her expertise to Energy Alton’s work.

Our Staff

LisaLisa brings nearly 25 years of experience domestic renovation and decarbonisation. Lisa has a further degree and background in scientific research, followed by 20 years in clinical Project Management before succumbing to the need to support residents understand how they can decarbonise their own lives. Lisa has retrofitted her own home to near zero carbon and zero-bill, has extensive experience in thermal imaging and holds a Level 3 qualification as Domestic Energy Assessor. Lisa is also active in promoting decarbonised transport with a focus on provision of safe cycling infrastructure.
