Climate change – “extremely urgent and far-reaching action is needed”

In October 2018, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change published a Special Report which, in a nutshell, concluded that to avoid a level of global warming that would threaten the survival of communities all over the world, be it from flooding or the threat to food production from drought and desertification, we need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 45% in 12 years.  Here is a blog from our friends at Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) which gives more information.  On their website there is another blog which sets out what you can do.  Most importantly, we all need to talk about this crisis.  It is about our children’s future, and our grandchildren’s future.  It is very important.
