If you’re keen to go green in your home by getting solar PV installed then it’s best to do so very soon. The Government’s Feed-in Tariff Scheme will close to new applicants from 1 April 2019. We don’t know what will replace it, but it is unlikely to be of equivalent financial benefit. Payments should be guaranteed for 20 years to current beneficiaries.
The ‘Control for Low Carbon Levies’ document published during the Autumn budget indicated that the Feed-in-Tariff scheme will close to new applicants from 1 April 2019, and this has now been confirmed following “consultation”. Both the Generation and Export Tariffs will close.
